MTV has announced a new online PR campaign involving collaboration with global networking site MySpace.
The move will see a new chart show established, voted for by audiences on the social media website commencing on March 16th.
According to utalkmarketing, it is the first time that MySpace users will be involved in helping to compile a chart playlist, set to feature on MTV Two.

Philip OFerrall, vice-president of digital media at MTV Networks UK & Ireland, explains that "the audience for MTV TWO and MySpace are incredibly similar."
Meanwhile, marketing director of the social networking site's UK operations Dom Cook stated that the firms hoped to increase their exposure by combining the forces of two major musical showcases.
Other online PR activity from MTV includes Think MTV, a source of information for the "activist" generation which aims to provide support for environmental and social projects.
