Aim 'a priority' for event management companies association
Thursday 21st of February 2008
Getting the event management UK industry to adopt a formal accreditation scheme as standard should be a priority in the coming months, it has been suggested by one sector organisation.
Newly invested chairman of the Meetings Industry Association (MIA) Nick Milne has said that the Accredited In Meetings (Aim) scheme should be pursued by event management companies to foster excellence for those using such services.
In fact, the spokesperson asserted that his priority in promoting excellence among event management companies would be "Aim, Aim and Aim again", Meetpie reports.
He described the scheme as the unique selling point of the association and detailed his plans to expand the offering, alongside providing more events for MIA members.
Mr Milne added that the organisation's membership was stable and growing but that a merger with other sector associations would not be ruled out as an option.
Event management companies intending to become MIA members are obliged to pass an Aim audit, meaning that membership itself should denote a level of quality to potential customers - although higher silver and gold Aim accreditations are also available.
