Confex event management draws in record crowds
Tuesday 19th of February 2008
Successful public relations and marketing plans enabled Confex to draw in 15 per cent more visitors this year to its Earls Court event than in 2007, it has been claimed.
Attendance at the event was at its highest for the show's 25-year history, reports Meetpie, in news likely to be of interest to event management companies.
For professionals in event management, London venues can offer easy access for both visitors and exhibitors, which could boost numbers - and Confex says that it is looking at developing a "buddy" system to improve options for events professionals travelling alone next year.
Unaudited attendance figures to the convention have been pegged at slightly fewer than 10,000 - not including the 1,350 choosing to cross over from a technology and marketing show.
Duncan Reid, event director, said: "Our exhibitors once again pulled out all the stops to help support the show and deliver quality visitors.
"We are definitely moving in the right direction refining the product so we can continue to build and grow the event for the future."
Confex took place between February 12th and 14th this year and claims to be the largest events management UK convention, allowing industry professionals to compare venues and services from a wide range of providers.
