National Venue Show undergoes changes
Thursday 14th of February 2008
The National Venue Show is set to be revamped for 2008, it has been revealed.
The show will now be known as Event UK and events management companies will travel to the NEC in Birmingham for the annual event, Meetpie reports.
Duncan Reid, event director of the International Confex show, announced the changes at the Confex at London's Earls Court.
"The Birmingham show will offer a wider regional focus aimed at organisers of experiential live events," he said.
Revealing that there were no plans to merge the two industry events, he added: "Visitors to International Confex are, in the main, interested in organising international or London-based conferences. Event UK will offer a more creative remit."
This year's Event UK will last two days, instead of the traditional three, and will be held on September 16th and 17th.
Meanwhile, according to the HBI Meetings Industry Report, 44 per cent of firms are intent on conferencing more regularly.
