Wednesday 13th of February 2008
Events management companies could continue their recent good performance into 2008 with the number of corporate meetings set to rise over the coming months, new research has shown.
According to the HBI Meetings Industry Report, the amount of meetings to be held over the next 11 months will grow, with 44 per cent of companies intent on conferencing more regularly.
The report also revealed that more delegates will attend meetings, with 31 per cent of respondents predicting an increase in the scale of their conferences and a further 30 per cent upping their events budgets.
Managing director of HBI, Des Mclaughlin, revealed that the new report would help the industry, with more information on conferencing habits being made available to events management firms.
He said: "There is actually a lot of information out there, and our report combines this data with the experiences of both corporate buyers and venue operators, bringing it all together in one place."
The report also revealed that more than 35,000 meeting rooms are set to open over the next two years.
