New meeting space to open at Canary Wharf
Thursday 31st of January 2008
De Vere Venues is set to unveil a new meetings and conference facility at Canary Wharf.
The company will open the facility in June, providing the capital's event management companies with more conferencing options.
Tony Dangerfield, chief operating officer at the company, claimed that the new space would be ideally situated for a number of its key business clients.
He said: "This acquisition really is the jewel in the De Vere Venues crown. Our new venue will offer the very best meeting space at the heart of London's new business centre - with the excellent quality and service that our discerning customers can already expect and enjoy."
The new space is the third De Vere Venues facility in the capital, with the company already running operations in Holborn and Oxford Circus.
Meanwhile, according to Rosemarie Sama, the events management industry will have to tackle environmental issues to safeguard its future.
Ms Sama has urged companies to follow the example of the Melbourne Convention Centre, which received a 'Six Star' environmental rating.
