Events management industry looks to greener future
Wednesday 30th of January 2008
Events management companies will have to tackle environmental issues soon to safeguard the future of the industry, experts have claimed.
According to the event director of leading industry convention AIME 2008, Rosemarie Sama, the fate of events management and green issues are closely linked.
Ms Sama claimed that other venues should follow the lead of the Melbourne Convention Centre, which has a Six Star green rating, and begin taking action now.
"It's crucial, and obligatory, we continue along this road to ensure a long and healthy future for the industry."
This year's AIME, running from February 19th to February 20th, will have a green focus, with delegates being educated with classes by environmental experts.
Meanwhile, events management companies have been given more venue choice on London's South Bank with the opening of the Park Plaza County Hall.
The new hotel will open this Friday (February 1st), with six new conference rooms available for hire.
