CSR integral to the future of events management
Thursday 17th of January 2008
Corporate social responsibility will play an important role in the future of events management firms, it has been claimed.
Michael Sloan, general manager of Novotel London West, has suggested that businesses that do not take their environmental and social role seriously may suffer in the long-term.
"Companies that fail to recognise the importance of CSR may find they not only lose business but they are left tying to catch up with those who have been marketing their green and social credentials for years," he wrote on the MyVenues website.
Meanwhile, sustainability and technology will be amongst the key issues discussed at this year's European Meetings and Events Conference.
The ExCel centre based event will feature Dr Jagdish Parikh heading a session entitled 'Leading Your Self: Achieving Sustainable Excellence' and Roo Reynolds discussing 'Web 2.0 Where is Technology Headed?'.
