Worldspan receive profit boost

The Worldspan Group boosted its profits in its events division for the financial year, according to the company.
The firm reported a pre-tax gain of more than £130,000, a 21 per cent increase on the previous 12 months, Meetpie reports.
And Sally Hunt, managing director of the company, revealed that the success of the group was attributable to the growth in new business.
"As well as operating more events for our existing clients, we made some major new business wins during our financial year which contributed to a 21 per cent growth in sales year on year," she said
"Yet again our team demonstrated their true expertise in successfully delivering some very logistically complex projects to the highest standards of quality, creativity and service," she added.
Meanwhile, Meeting Professionals International reported an increase in its membership numbers by around 2,000, highlighting the increased importance of the meetings and conferencing sector.
