MCI set to offer environmental events
Thursday 20th of December 2007
MCI has revealed that it will be offering consultancy and advice on how to make events management a greener industry.
The firm's new 'Sustainable Services' scheme will be aimed at both corporations and suppliers and will offer solutions on reducing emissions.
Guy Bigwood, the social responsibility director of the company, revealed that the scheme would be a benefit to both the environment and the events management industry.
He said: "Our core business is building community through the organization of events. The gathering of large numbers of people inherently creates an environmental impact.
"To continue to be successful we believe that our long term growth must strike a balance between the needs of the economy, the environment and society.
"MCI has a corporate responsibility to understand, measure and reduce the impact of our projects. Creating MCI Sustainability Services is an integral component of this aspiration to build community for a better world," he added.
Meanwhile, The Business Events Forum has also underlined it's commitment to climate change by committing to address the topic at its 2008 conference.
