British Telecoms provide conferencing sponsorship

Communication company British Telecoms (BT) has a struck a five-year naming rights deal with the new Liverpool conference centre, providing another boost for the events management industry.
The centre will now be called the BT Convention Centre, replacing the site's original name, Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool, after an agreement was reached for an undisclosed sum.
Jacquie Rogers, general manager of the centre, revealed that the facility was happy to have gained sponsorship from BT.
She said: "We are delighted that BT is coming on board as the official sponsor of the convention centre.
"The facility will be equipped with the very latest technology for users, making it amongst the best equipped convention centre in Europe."
"BT is an internationally-renowned brand and this deal will deliver real value to both parties in terms of new business opportunities and national and international profile," she added.
Meanwhile, Eventia and the British Association of Conference Destination are in discussion over the possibility of a merger, with a deal expected to be completed subject to the approval of board members.
