Landsbanki ¦Heritable Bank has won the award for the Most Effective Public Relations Campaign at the Financial Services Forum Awards.
The bank won the award for the launch and continuing development of its easy access savings account, Icesave. The ceremony was held at The Royal Opera House in London on November 14th. The team behind Icesave worked with PR consultancy Kinross + Render to launch the brand.
"Launching an unknown brand into a very competitive market was always going to be a challenge," Mark Sismey-Durrant, managing director at Icesave, commented.
"Our PR campaign enabled Icesave to punch significantly above its weight and enabled launch targets to be delivered seven months ahead of schedule. It positioned Icesave as a consumer champion and thought leader and continues to deliver platforms to drive business growth. We are very proud that this award has recognised our achievements."
Statistics showed that call-centre enquiries rose at times of positive media endorsement. The team managed to sign up 110,000 customers and the 2007 year target of £3 billion in balances was achieved seven months in advance.
