HP release to give VARs managed print space edge
Friday 16th of November 2007
HP says that its new printing specialisations will give value added resellers (VARs) extra 'traction' in the managed print space, computing.co.uk reports.
The electronics giant last week added three specialisations to its Preferred Partner Programme. These were office printing, office printing solutions and sales service. The specialisation in sales service is meant to be aimed at Preferred-level partners with a certain level of expertise in HP service sales.
The office printing and office printing solutions segments will together make up a printing group office and new imaging specialisation suite.
"This shows that we want to embrace the managed print service opportunity," Dave Poskett, director of Solution Partner Organisation HP UK and Ireland, told the website.
"The office printing and solution specialisation is noteworthy because we are trying to better understand our printing partners and how they sell solutions. We and our partners have to work out how to best present the managed print proposition and how to take advantage of the technology."
