Printing.com lends Agfa a hand
Friday 26th of October 2007
Belgium printing firm Agfa has received a vote of confidence from print franchise pioneer Printing.com, following a full pre-media tender review.
Printing.com has replaced two Galileo violet CTP devices at its Manchester hub with two new Avalon thermal platesetters, in a move that would have cost an estimated £400,000.
"We've installed the new Agfa machines and they're going very well," Printing.com chief executive Tony Rafferty told Print Week magazine.
They're helping us to extend the range that we can produce. We used to advise franchises to shy away from sub-ten per cent tint when we were using violet laser, but with the thermal, we're advising our franchises that there's a lot more flexibility."
Agfa systems solutions specialist Dave Cross added: "They decided to go with whichever partner they felt was best, not just from the service point of view, but also from the technical side, and were very pleased they chose Agfa."
Agfa is due to release it third quarter results soon.
